This act is the most important and significant civil rights legislation act involving and affecting individuals with disabilities.
1). Employers of 15 or more workers must make "resonable accomendations" so that qualified individuals with a disability is not discriminated agaisnt.
2). Mass transit systems must be accessible to citizens with disablities.
3). Hotels,fast food restaurants, theatres, hospitals, banks, dentists offices, retail stores, and other establishments may not discriminate agaisnt individuals with a disability.
4). Companies that provide telephone service must offer relay services t indivduals with an hearing impairment or speech impairments.
This amendment to the 2008 Public Law 110-325 (The Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments of 2008 ADAA it revises the defination of a disability in faor of a wider interpretation and expands the defination of " major life activites". Changes incorpated in this law apply to students that are eligible for the proctection under Section 504.
Under this act it is very important for employers, individuals to comply with this act because it insures that individuals receive the proctection and the right services in which they are legally entitled to.
